The 2016-2021 Kawasaki H2 SX / SE Has been on our radar for a long time. With its supercharged engine, the potential for performance increases is massive with a simple ECU calibration. The main issue was the lack of OBD2 flashing support for the platform, that is until now. With extensive back end development, we were able to work out an OBD2 read/write process for these bikes, which is a first in the H2 market! What this means for the end user is that you no longer need to disassemble the front of the bike to remove the ECU and mail it to your tuner. Now you can do it through the OBD2 port located under the seat of the motorcycle from the comfort of your garage. Utilizing our Flasher+ Device, you can now tune the bike from home with our popular and impressive Stage 1+ Performance Calibration. While we have had the ability to tune these bikes for a long time via bench process (ECU removal and mail in) we didn't think it was a sustainable option for the market. Any small change or if you ever wanted to go back to stock would require the ECU to be removed and mailed to our location. This incurs downtime, shipping costs and risk for damage when removing and mailing the ECU. Additionally getting to the ECU is really difficult in the nose of the motorcycle. This new process allows for an industry first at home tuning solution with no need to remove the ECU! While this process is new, the tuning process is not. We have spent countless hours on the dyno behind the scenes. Reliable performance solutions is what we do and we spend many hours with a lot of data logging equipment to ensure that outcome.

THE DETAILS

 

  • FUELING - With custom tuning we can target better AFR (air/fuel ratio) plots to enhance not only racing performance, but also cruising and partial throttle inputs.
  • IGNITION - Optimized to make the most power while still being safe and reliable.
  • THROTTLE DERESTRICTION - Giving you the ability to utilize 100% of the throttle is paramount in track situations where you need all the power you can get on demand. The factory file has a “dead spot” on the top end that kills the bikes power curve when it should be making the most. This also means any kind of straight line acceleration also suffers. We remove these factory restrictions to ensure a smooth and predictable throttle, all the way to redline. This can unlock 50-60whp when done correctly with other maps.
  • LOWER FAN-ON TEMP - Let's face it, this bike rides a little on the hot side. To help not only the riders enjoyment but also keep the engine slightly cooler, we've lowered the fan-on temps.
  • INCREASED RPM LIMITER (at customer request) - The stock RPM limiter is set to 12,800 RPM. We have been testing 13,500 RPM with zero negative side effects. We set the RPM limiter for 13,500 RPM in all gears. This helps you stay in the powerband longer and reduces the need to shift at the track. We can also leave it stock.
  • INCREASED TOP SPEED LIMITER - Removed so you can let the bike run free in any track environment.
  • EXHAUST VALVE MANAGEMENT - Improved and optimized for peak performance and sound.

 


 

PLEASE NOTE


  • Tuning is only available until 2021 Model year as of now or any year with the Mitsubishi control unit. The 2022.5+ moved to a Bosch MG1 ECU vs the older Mitsubishi unit. The new style Bosch ECU tuning is on the horizon but no ETA as of now.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of the H2 SX/SE AFR (air/fuel ratio) and the platforms almost endless aftermarket options, the file we deliver you is SAFE and may need the fueling to be adjusted to meet your bikes individual needs for racing. In this instance of 100% performance, we recommend a piggyback fuel controller, or an "auto-tuner" that can aid you in correcting your fuel maps (if needed).
