Double Dog Moto DD2R Monocoque Tail for the
1198/1098/848

All carbon fiber monocoque with titanium reinforcement for crash
resistance, this tail section replaces the entire steel subframe and cowling
and weiging in at only 5 pounds, it yields an 11 pound weight reduction.
Too radical looking? - try the stock look carbon fiber tail too.

Most important is the location where the weight is reduced: high up over the rear
wheel and a long way from the center of mass.
Radically shifts the center of mass of the bike down and towards the front wheel,
resulting in a very different 'flickable' chassis balance* - changing direction more like
a superlight 600, while retaining high speed stability.
Carbon fiber monocoque is constructed with vacuum-bagging technique for
maximum strength and minimum weight.
Threaded inserts for bolting your stock seat directly to the DD2R monocoque.
Does not include lights or license plate holder, but can be converted to street with
aftermarket LED light/license sets (depending on road rules in your area).
Comes with instructions for installation, but it's as simple as removing the stock
cowling and 4 bolts for the subframe then bolting the DD2R on with the same 4 bolts.
Available in beautiful clear gloss finish and can be painted to match your bike (by
others).
Not compatible with the stock exhaust system (no mount for under seat mufflers) -
designed to perfectly complement the high performance Double Dog Alpha Dog
Exhaust for even greater weight savings and improved handling.

Double Dog Moto DDA206 OE style Carbon Fiber
Monocoque Tail for the 1198/1098/848

The 206 series Tails by Double Dog Moto look like the stock Ducati tail, for
those who want to retain the look of the stock bike, while maximizing the
weight reduction learned from engineering our radical DD2R tail. It also
provides for hanging stock and aftermarket under-tail exhaust systems
and installation of your stock tail light.
The DDA206 is made of Carbon Fiber with proprietary titanium strip
lamination for ultimate strength and weight ratios

Monocoque completely replaces tail subframe and cowlings
Reinforced with titanium spines for crash-resistance (laminated integral with
monocoque)
Total weight = 5.5lbs (for DDA206) vs 16lbs for stock
Much stiffer than stock subframe for more chassis feedback to rider
Gloss finish over natural plain weave carbon fiber – beautiful!
Bolts directly on to same frame mounts but top (tension) mounts are double-sided for
added strength (longer titanium bolts included)
Suspends under-tail mufflers in the same way as stock steel subframe (re-using the
hanging hardware from the stock subframe)
Improved ventilation (less airflow resistance for improved aerodynamics) - oversized
vents covered with high-flow mesh
The rear seat cover is secured by a quick release fastener to save weight. Storage
space inside the monocoque is much more substantial than the stock tail.
A platform under the cover is provided for bikes with traction control units.
While this monocoque tail is extremely strong for its weight, it was not designed to
carry pillion passenger load (far from mounting points), and so no mounting points are
provided for pillion pegs.

Double Dog Moto DD5R Carbon eXoskeleton for the
1198/1098/848

If our carbon fiber DD2R tail is just too heavy at 6 lbs DD moto has
designed a new super lightweight carbon fiber tail for the ultimate in
weight loss and radical looks. The design integrates the tank panels and
tail into a single stressed support and bolt to the stock Ducati frame
crossover tube.

Carbon fiber monocoque completely replaces tail cowling, steel subframe and tank
cowlings.
Total weight = 3lbs vs 16 lbs for stock!
Much stiffer than stock subframe for more chassis feedback to the rider.
Gloss finish over natural plain weave carbon fiber - beautiful as is or paintable if you
prefer.
Bolts into the crossover frame tube ends with included hardware and abandons the
previous rear facing frame mounting lugs.
Comes with a foam pad seat but can also be used as bare carbon fiber for maximum
chassis feedback. Your leathers should have butt padding anyway!
Not compatible with the stock Ducati exhaust but always a perfect match for the
Double Dog Alpha Dog Exhaust to maximize mass centralization, drop a combined
weight of 26 lbs up high at the rear of the bike and add power throughout the rev
range.
